About the artist

Biography

Visual artist Sophie Du Berger comes from an artistic environment shaped by Post-Impressionism. The daughter of Quebec painter Paul-Henri Du Berger, she grew up in a studio where acrylic, pastel, oil and watercolour met. From an early age, the work of American, European and Canadian artists fed her imagination and helped shape her practice.

Her work explores urban atmospheres, nocturnal light and Asian influences, which she approaches with a distinctive sense of the exotic. She brings a contemporary, intuitive and daring sensibility to a strong family artistic legacy.
